Dr. Durgadas Asranna himself is a well-known practicing obstetrician and gyneacologist of Tumkur, known for his leadership, dynamism and philanthropic activities.

It was in the year 1992 he started a small 5-bedded hospital which has now blossomed into a multi-speciality 150-bedded Kasturba Hospital in the heart of city.
